While they are popular for their convenient services and wide selection of products, some stores have also become attractions because of their incredible locations and scenery.

Lawson Fujikawaguchiko
Lawson Fujikawaguchiko is one of Japan’s most famous convenience stores among tourists.
Its main attraction is the spectacular view of Mount Fuji rising directly behind the store, creating a picture-perfect scene.
Many visitors stop here to buy snacks or drinks while enjoying the view, especially in the morning when Mount Fuji is clearly visible.
However, the location became extremely crowded, and complaints were raised by local residents about disruptive tourist behavior.
In May 2024, authorities installed a large black screen to block the Mount Fuji view from the popular photo spot. The barrier was later removed in August 2024 because of Typhoon Ampil, although the source notes that it could be installed again if problems return.
Mirai Convenience Store
Located in Kito, Naka, Tokushima Prefecture, Mirai Convenience Store was created around the concept of a “convenience store for children.”
Its goal is to provide children with opportunities to learn and experience new things.
The name Mirai, meaning “future” in Japanese, was inspired by the idea that children represent the future.
The store’s design also reflects this concept, with low shelves that children can easily reach and yellow Y-shaped pillars inspired by Kito’s famous yuzu fields.
Built around the idea of living in harmony with nature, the store features large glass windows inspired by traditional Japanese Zen gardens.
At night, the building blends beautifully with the starry sky, contributing to its reputation as one of the world’s most beautiful convenience stores.
Lawson Himeji Hakuchodai
Located in Himeji, Hyogo Prefecture, Lawson Himeji Hakuchodai stands out because of the impressive Shiratori Castle in the background.
From the right angle, the convenience store and castle create a striking photo opportunity.
Shiratori Castle is a replica of Germany’s Neuschwanstein Castle and features Western European-style architecture.
Visitors can stop at Lawson for food and drinks before continuing to Taiyo Park, where the castle is located.
7-Eleven Minato
Located in Shiba, Minato City, this 7-Eleven offers a unique view of one of Tokyo’s most famous landmarks: Tokyo Tower.

Located near Lake Kawaguchiko in the Fuji Five Lakes area, this otherwise ordinary-looking convenience store has become popular with visitors who want to photograph Mount Fuji, particularly during clear mornings.
