Japan’s beloved Pokémon franchise turns 30 this year, and confectionery fans have a delicious reason to celebrate. Starting January 15, 2026, Japanese sweets maker Ariake has rolled out a sweet tribute: Pokémon Milk Harbour Mont Blanc cakes designed with nostalgic Poké Ball flair — and they’re staying around all year long!
What’s So Special About These Cakes?

Instead of your average cake, Ariake’s latest creation transforms its longtime Milk Harbour sweets into something straight out of a Pokémon trainer’s snack bag. Baked with condensed milk and honey for a moist, sweet dough and filled with a chestnut-enhanced anko (sweet bean paste), these treats are adorable and delicious — just like catching your first Pikachu!
Each cake’s packaging features classic Pokémon characters from various regions, making them just as fun to collect as they are to eat. There are six different wrapper designs, and the packs come randomly, so there’s totally a built-in excuse to grab more than one box.
Pricing and Where to Get Them
Hungry trainers can snag one of these souvenir-worthy sweets for 173 yen each — a tasty bargain. Prefer a box? The five-piece set costs 864 yen, which is actually cheaper than buying five individually… and hey, check out the cute box art while you’re at it!
Look for the Poké Ball Mont Blanc cakes at Ariake’s standalone shops like Ariake Yokohama in Minato Mirai or Harbour’s Moon Ariake Honkan, as well as department store food floors — such as Takashimaya Yokohama and other major depachika in Tokyo and Osaka. They’re also available via the official Ariake online shop.”
Long-Lived Limited Edition (Yes, Really!)
Unlike many limited Pokémon tie-ins that disappear in a flash, these Poké Ball Mont Blanc cakes are here for a long haul. While they’re part of the 30th anniversary celebration, they’re slated to stay on shelves through the end of December 2026 — giving fans nearly a full year to catch ’em all (or at least eat ’em all).
Since its debut in 1996, Pokémon has charmed fans of all ages — from kids out to catch their first critter to adults who remember watching the first anime episodes. Now, three decades later, this sweet tribute by Ariake puts a tasty twist on that nostalgia, proving there’s no age limit on Pokémon passion (or cake cravings).
